The PhysioWorks Story – a message from our owner
Back when I was still in Physiotherapy School, I was at Saint Anne’s Church Lobster Suppers in PEI with my family. They had art from local artists for sale, and I saw a painting I liked. My Mum told me to buy it, but being a broke student, I was hesitant. I asked her where I would put it. She told me I could put it in my clinic when I open one.
Now back then, I didn’t really think I would own my own clinic, but I bought the painting anyways. It seems my Mum knew something I didn’t at the time because 22 years later that painting finally found it’s home at PhysioWorks Kingsview Market in October 2016.
Back in 2016, we opened our doors with just myself, my sister Andi and a massage therapist. As we welcomed so many loyal clients, we also welcomed more amazing staff who shared my vision of providing quality care rather than a cookie cutter treatment where the patient feels lost.
In 2018, after a year of planning and renovations we opened our second location in CoopersTown Promenade.
We have had our ups and downs. We have welcomed new team members, we have seen team members move, get married, have babies and retire. We had a global pandemic. We worked hard. We overcame. We persevered. We continued focusing on giving our patients a wonderful experience. We grew our team and are proud of the amazing team at PhysioWorks. I am so confident with the team we have, that I was able to move back to the East Coast and slow down a little after years of hard work; sometimes 80-120 hour weeks.
So, while my office no longer looks out at our treadmill, instead I look out at the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, I am still actively running the clinic. I start my day with a walk along the beach instead of along the farms of NW Airdrie. I am in contact with the team on a regular basis and still make trips out to have some in person connection with the amazing PhysioWorks team. I have full confidence in the team and could not be prouder of them. If you ever wish to get in touch with me, feel free to send me a message and I will usually get back you within a few days.
